Unlock a wealth of creative inspiration hidden within one of Miami's most distinctive cultural institutions. Creative Connection: A Wolfsonian Open House takes place on Saturday, April 5 at The Wolfsonian - FIU, offering artists, designers, writers and creative professionals a behind-the-scenes look at resources that could fuel their next artistic endeavor.
The free event begins with chief librarian Frank Luca leading an immersive tour of The Wolfsonian Library, where visitors can explore rare books, archives, postcards, souvenirs and other fascinating artifacts from the modern age. Following this, artist Rosemarie Chiarlone will guide attendees through her installation Mapping Trajectories, which transforms the museum's Bridge Tender House into a streetside canvas featuring abstracted aerial maps.
The morning concludes with an informative session on the Creative Fellowship program, detailing opportunities for deeper engagement with the museum's extensive collection. This structured open house provides a unique opportunity to discover how The Wolfsonian's diverse resources can inspire projects across various mediums, from film and performance to short stories and visual art.
