Feb 22, 2025
Starting: 8:00 PM
Experience the enchanting realm of 19th-century Romantic ballet with an evening of timeless classics performed by the Cuban Classical Ballet of Miami (CCBM). Eternal Love, celebrates the elegance and emotional depth of "White Ballets," renowned for their ethereal beauty and poignant storytelling.
The program opens with Les Sylphides, a moonlit dream choreographed by Mikhail Fokine to the music of Frédéric Chopin, where a young man is lured into the delicate dance of otherworldly sylphs. This is followed by the haunting Act II of Giselle, telling the story of a betrayed peasant girl who, even in death, protects her unfaithful lover from the vengeful spirits of the Wilis.
The performance continues with the Act II pas de deux from Swan Lake, Marius Petipa's iconic choreography set to Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's stirring score, capturing the eternal devotion between Prince Siegfried and Odette, a princess cursed to live as a swan. The evening concludes with selections from La Bayadère, a tale of love and transcendence as the spirits of Nikiya, a temple dancer, and Solor, a warrior, reunite in the afterlife.
Featuring international Cuban principal dancers and the CCBM corps de ballet, this program showcases the enduring artistry and emotional resonance of these Romantic masterpieces. Eternal Love premieres on Saturday, February 22 at The Fillmore Miami Beach.
