Dealing with Multiple Stressors: Amphibian Conservation Biology
Apr 21, 2025
From: 11:00 AM to Noon
Discover the complex challenges facing amphibian populations worldwide through expert insights from University of Miami researchers. Dr. Christopher A. Searcy, professor and director of Graduate Studies, along with Ph.D. candidate Aidan O'Brien from the Conservation Ecology Lab, will present Dealing with Multiple Stressors: Amphibian Conservation Biology on Monday, April 21.
Learn about their work with the federally endangered Santa Cruz long-toed salamander, which faces threats from habitat loss, human encroachment and rising sea levels. Despite protective measures, crucial ecological information remains missing. The presentation will highlight the Conservation Lab's research on larval habitats and post-metamorphic behavior, providing valuable knowledge for conservation strategies.
This event is part of Earth Week 2025 programming presented by University of Miami Libraries and will take place in the Third Floor Conference Room of Otto G. Richter Library.
