Denève: Beethoven’s Eroica will be performed on Saturday, October 4 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, October 5 at 2:00 p.m. at the New World Center in Miami Beach. The concert begins with Chuphshah! Harriet’s Drive to Canaan, a contemporary piece by James Lee III that honors Harriet Tubman’s courageous pursuit of freedom. Aaron Copland’s Lincoln Portrait follows, blending narration with music to reflect on the enduring principles of democracy through Abraham Lincoln’s own words.
The program concludes with Beethoven’s Symphony No. 3, Eroica, a groundbreaking composition that reshaped the form of the symphony and captured the resilience of the human spirit. This performance marks the launch of the New World Symphony’s 2025–26 season, signaling a year of exploration through music’s power to reflect and inspire.
