Earth Day Every Day

Explore the intersection of urban design and environmental stewardship with a guided tour focused on the Miami Design District’s evolving green spaces. Earth Day Every Day, presented by the Miami Design District, takes place on Tuesday, April 22, at Sweet Bird North.

This curated landscape design tour highlights the district’s urban canopy and ecological features, offering insights into how plants, architecture and public space work together to support sustainability in a dense urban environment. The walk will be led by a multidisciplinary team of experts, including Dr. Carl E. Lewis and Dr. Jason Downing of Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, along with professionals in landscape architecture, ethnobotany and urban design.

Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of native and tropical plantings, the role of public green space and the design strategies behind the district’s ongoing environmental initiatives.
