Apr 12, 2025
Two sessions: 11:00 AM, 11:30 AM, noon and 1:00 PM
Explore the ancient art of natural egg dyeing in a family-friendly workshop at one of Miami's historic estates. The Easter Eggstravaganza: Natural Dye Creations for Families will be held at Vizcaya Village on Sunday, April 20, offering visitors an eco-friendly alternative to commercial Easter egg decorating. Four half hour session times are available: 11:00 a.m., 11:30 a.m., noon and 1:00 p.m.
Participants will learn traditional techniques for coloring and decorating eggs using naturally occurring dyes, creating Easter keepsakes without chemicals or artificial colorings. This hands-on workshop provides all necessary materials, including eggs, natural dyes and decorating tools, making it accessible for creators of all experience levels.
The workshop will be facilitated by Veronica Buitron, a textile designer, natural dyer and founder of SUSPIRO. Her work combines sustainability with social entrepreneurship, focusing on fair trade practices, natural materials and local production. SUSPIRO's mission centers on reviving and promoting handmade textile traditions from the Ecuadorian Andes.
While visiting Vizcaya Village, attendees can also explore the Farmers Market, which features local farmers and vendors every Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
