Discover the artistic legacy of one of Cuba's most influential painters through a curated collection spanning decades. Eduardo Abela: Homage to the Isaac and Betty Rudman Collection runs from March 13 to May 30 at Latin Art Core Fine Art Gallery, marking the first exhibition of Abela's work in Miami in forty years.
Recognized as a key figure in Cuba's First Vanguard art movement of the early 20th century, Eduardo Abela created works that reflect the social and cultural complexities of his era with both sensitivity and technical mastery. His distinctive style places him alongside other notable Cuban modernists such as Amelia Peláez, Víctor Manuel and Carlos Enríquez.
This exhibition pays tribute to the vision of collectors Isaac and Betty Rudman, whose comprehensive Latin American art collection includes sixty-five Abela pieces. Forty of these paintings have been reintroduced to the Cuban art market through their generosity, gaining new contemporary significance.
Visitors will have the rare opportunity to appreciate Abela's artistic evolution through works dating from the 1920s to 1964. Given that his production was not particularly prolific, each piece represents an invaluable testimony to Cuba's artistic history, making this retrospective-style exhibition particularly significant.
Valet parking is available in front of the gallery.
