The Faena Theater Jazz Series 2025 brings six evenings of live music to the intimate and glamorous Faena Theater, starting January 15. Produced and curated by GRAMMY®-nominated record producer Rachel Faro, this year’s lineup celebrates a diverse range of jazz talent from across the globe.
The series opens with a historic collaboration between GRAMMY®-winning saxophonist and composer Paquito D’Rivera and the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music. The evening will begin with the Stamps Wind Quintet performing D’Rivera’s renowned classical work “Aires Tropicales,” a five-part suite for woodwind quintet showcasing Cuban musical styles such as danzón, habanera, comparsa and son, which have shaped the island’s musical heritage since the 18th century. The second part of the program will feature D’Rivera joining the Stamps Jazz Quintet for a dynamic performance in the Latin jazz style that has earned him international acclaim over his storied career.
February features Havana Nocturne, a collaboration between Aymée Nuviola and Kemuel Roig, blending Cuban rhythms with contemporary sounds. In March, acclaimed New Orleans pianist Sullivan Fortner showcases his inventive improvisational style, followed in April by Lucia, whose mesmerizing voice earned her the title of the first Latiné artist to win the prestigious Sarah Vaughan Vocal Jazz Competition. May highlights the soulful melodies of singer-songwriter Jarrod Lawson, leading to a grand finale in June with Something Else! featuring Vincent Herring, an all-star ensemble blending bebop, funk and R&B.
Each concert begins at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are available for individual shows or as part of the full series.
