Start your Saturday with purpose and play during a community gathering focused on ocean awareness and environmental engagement. Taking place at 35th Street Beach on Miami Beach, this interactive morning offers a mix of water activities, service opportunities and educational experiences for all ages.
Family Beach Day, held Saturday, June 7, is part of the World Ocean Celebration event lineup and features ocean-centric programming that invites participants to connect with the water and the community. Activities include a ceremonial paddle-out, swim instruction, beachside Pilates, hands-on conservation efforts and ocean-themed art and science exhibits.
The following activities require registration:
- Ocean Mile Exhibition Swim (8:00–9:00 a.m.) with Full Circle Coaching
- Pilates on the Beach (8:30–9:30 a.m.) with Pilates for the People
- Youth Ocean Swim Instruction (9:00–10:00 a.m.) with Breathe and Splash Swim School
- Ceremonial Paddle-Out (9:00–10:00 a.m.) with Surfrider Miami (registration coming soon)
- Dune Restoration (10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.) with Surfrider Miami and Frost Science MUVE (registration coming soon)
- Beach Cleanup (10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.) with Clean Miami Beach, The International SeaKeepers Society, and VolunteerCleanup.org (registration coming soon)
Additional programming includes educational booths and interactive art installations such as microplastic investigations, reef-safe skincare awareness, virtual reality reef experiences and collaborative murals.
Attendees are encouraged to bring sun protection, reef-safe sunscreen and reusable water bottles—single-use plastics are discouraged. Admission is free with registration and a signed waiver.
This event brings together dozens of local organizations committed to environmental stewardship, youth empowerment and creative expression.
