Family Day Mash-Up: Discovering Design Meets In Bloom

Nature, art, and wellness activities combine in an afternoon designed for families to explore and create together. The Family Day Mash-Up: Discovering Design Meets In Bloom takes place at the Miami Beach Botanical Garden on Sunday, February 23.

This free collaborative event, presented by The Wolfsonian, Miami Beach Botanical Garden and Children's Bereavement Center, offers a variety of engaging activities led by local artists and wellness practitioners. Artist Lauren Shapiro guides participants in creating garden-inspired crafts, while Dr. Karina Del Punta leads sessions in making mindful nature circles.

The afternoon includes wellness activities with scheduled sound bath and breath work meditation sessions at 2:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., led by LaCriscia Fowlkes. Families can gather for story time at 2:30 p.m. featuring These Bees Count! by Alison Formento, followed by refreshments. The event concludes with a children's yoga session focused on animal poses, led by Namaste + Play founder Jaclyn Angulo.

While the event is free to attend, advance registration is required. This program is made possible through support from various foundations including the Batchelor Foundation, the Tamara L. Harris Foundation and the City of Miami Beach, among others.
