Gay8 House Party
Feb 16, 2025
GayOcho, the annual Hispanic street fair dedicated to LGBTQ+ art, music, dance, food and culture, is returning on February 16 in a new format: Gay8 House Party. Previous editions of Gay8 attracted more than 100,000 people from Greater Miami & Miami Beach and beyond, but for 2025, the festival will take place in the more-intimate setting of Domino Park (Máximo Gómez Park) on Calle Ocho (SW 8th Street) in iconic Little Havana. The festival may be smaller this year, but it will still focus on fostering connections among diverse communities while shining a spotlight on music, entertainment, food, arts and culture.
Live Entertainment At Gay8 House Party
This year’s entertainment lineup promises something for everyone, including performances by singers Lucy Grau, Lena Burke and Robbie Elias alongside high-energy DJ sets by David Gutierrez. There will also be plenty of dazzling drag performances. Dance lovers can enjoy the Lynn’s Girl Central and MACHO dance parties, both of which are guaranteed to keep spirits high throughout the day and into the night.
Enjoy The Flavors Of Miami
Adding to the vibrant atmosphere, there will be a variety of vendors offering a delectable taste of Miami’s diverse culinary scene. From Cuban classics, like empanadas and croquetas, to global flavors, including tacos, arepas and gourmet desserts, Gay8 House Party will keep you full and happy. Naturally, there will be lots of cafecito available for those who need some extra fuel while they party and dance the night away.
Amplifying The Importance of Community
The Gay8 House Party aims to highlight local culture and community through interactive art installations and live performances. In this year’s format, guests will experience a more intimate but still lively atmosphere that celebrates the diversity of the destination. The festival is produced by 4Ward Miami, a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering diversity, inclusion and community-building in South Florida and spotlighting the rich cultural tapestry of Hispanic LGBTQ+ communities.
“While the larger festival will not take place in 2025, the Gay8 House Party reflects our commitment to celebrating the diversity and vibrancy of South Florida,” said Aly Ramos, 4Ward Miami Board Member. “We want to keep the spirit of Gay8 alive while connecting more deeply with the community, and the Gay8 House Party affords us this opportunity.”
