Grief Not Guilty: Reclaiming My Time
Through Feb 28, 2025
The City of Miami Black Police Precinct and Courthouse Museum proudly presents the powerful exhibit, Grief Not Guilty: Reclaiming My Time, featuring the incredible fabric and quilt artistry of Gary Tyler. Tyler’s life story is as compelling as the quilts he creates. At just 16 years old, he was wrongfully convicted of a crime he didn’t commit—the 1974 shooting of a white student. Despite multiple witnesses attesting to his innocence, Tyler was sentenced to death and spent nearly 42 years in prison, much of it on death row, before being released.
