Jazz Encounters ft. Nicole Henry & Leesa Richards

Join WDNA FM on Friday, June 14, for its monthly Jazz Encounters series featuring two standout jazz vocalists, Nicole Henry and Leesa Richards. Jazz Encounters shines a spotlight on jazz and jazz-adjacent artists who bring fresh perspectives to their art, both in live performance and recording.

Nicole Henry, known for her versatile and emotionally resonant performances, has performed in over 20 countries. Throughout her career, she's received numerous accolades, including a Soul Train Award for Best Traditional Jazz Performance and the title of Best New Jazz Artist by HMV Japan. Her latest album, Time to Love Again, climbed to #4 on the U.S. jazz radio chart, and she recently completed a 35-city U.S. tour.

Joining her is Leesa Richards, a Detroit native now rooted in Miami. Leesa's career began in the realm of professional dance before she received critical acclaim for her role as Mary Magdalene in the national tour of Jesus Christ Superstar. She's performed with icons like Faith Hill, Whitney Houston and Gloria Estefan, and recorded with legends such as Barbra Streisand and Lenny Kravitz.

There will be an open jam after the concert. To participate, bring your own instruments.
