John Lloyd Young

Award-winning actor and singer John Lloyd Young will take center stage at Pinecrest Gardens on Saturday, March 15 as part of the 2024-2025 Jazz Series. Best known for his Tony Award-winning portrayal of Frankie Valli in the Broadway sensation Jersey Boys, Young brings his celebrated talent to the stage in his show John Lloyd Young: Broadway’s Jersey Boy. 

This intimate concert will feature a selection of ‘50s and ‘60s classics performed in the authentic style of original rock ‘n’ roll, doo-wop and R&B, with piano accompaniment. Audiences can expect to hear hits like Sherry and Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You, along with songs from his album My Turn, showcasing Young's versatile vocal range described by The New York Times as a "one-in-a-million high tenor".

Young's portrayal of Frankie Valli not only earned him critical acclaim but also led to winning the Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle and Theatre World Awards - a distinction no other American actor has achieved for a Broadway debut. Beyond the stage, Young reprised his role in Clint Eastwood's film adaptation of Jersey Boys and has performed at prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall, the White House and the Hollywood Bowl.

The performance will be held in the historic Banyan Bowl, an amphitheater known for its acoustics and geodesic dome.
