Just for Me: Dive in!

Embrace the wonders of marine life through a multisensory experience designed for visitors with diverse accessibility needs. Just for Me: Dive In! takes place on Thursday, April 17 from 4-5:30 p.m. and Saturday, April 19 from 10-11:30 a.m. at the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science. This specialized program creates an inclusive environment where individuals and families can explore scientific concepts at their own pace in a quieter, more comfortable setting.

During these dedicated hours, the museum adjusts sound and lighting throughout its exhibitions to create a more sensory-friendly atmosphere. The special Dive in! activation invites participants to discover what lies beneath the ocean's surface through tactile and interactive elements. Visitors can experience the textures of sea turtles, hear authentic whale sounds and examine fascinating marine features like the inside of a hammerhead shark's mouth.

To enhance the visit experience, the museum offers Just For Me backpacks available for checkout at the front kiosk anytime. These resources include noise-reducing earmuffs and sensory toys, available in both child and adult sizes on a first-come, first-served basis. The museum also provides a Social Narrative to help guests prepare for their visit.
