Enjoy an evening of authentic Cuban music performed by one of the genre’s most celebrated voices. La Descarga con Albita returns to the Westchester Cultural Arts Center on Saturday, August 23.
Born in Havana in 1962, Albita Rodríguez, known simply as Albita, is a Grammy- and Emmy-winning singer, composer and producer who was honored with Cuba’s highest artistic distinction, the Order for National Culture. With a career spanning traditional son Cubano, rumba, mambo and música guajira, she has blended heritage with contemporary sounds, earning acclaim for keeping Cuban musical traditions vibrant and relevant.
Doors open at 8 p.m., with Albita taking the stage at 9 p.m.
