Dive into the fascinating world of dolphin communication and discover how cutting-edge technology is helping decode their complex language. LIVE@Frost Science: Deciphering Dolphin Conversations will take place on Wednesday, June 4 at the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science.
Dr. Denise Herzing, Founder and Research Director of the Wild Dolphin Project, will share insights from her groundbreaking 40-year study of Atlantic spotted dolphins in the Bahamas. The presentation will explore how artificial intelligence and machine learning tools are being used to analyze dolphin whistles and clicks, potentially revealing the structure and meaning behind these sophisticated marine mammals' interactions.
This free event will be held in the Frost Planetarium, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis, with a limit of four tickets per transaction. Food and beverages will be available for purchase before the program begins.
Visitors should note that this event does not include museum admission, as exhibitions close at 6:00 p.m. Onsite parking is available in the museum garage for a flat rate of $8 starting at 6:00 p.m.
