LIVE@Frost Science: Playing the Quantum Drum
Mar 19, 2025
From: 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Explore groundbreaking research that brings the invisible quantum world into human view. LIVE@Frost Science: Playing the Quantum Drum features experimental physicist Dr. Cindy Regal on Wednesday, March 19 at the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science.
Dr. Regal, a physics professor at University of Colorado, Boulder, and JILA fellow, will discuss her team's development of visible-scale "drums" that demonstrate quantum mechanical principles. Their research focuses on manipulating quantum states of light for high-precision force measurements, with ongoing work exploring quantum entanglement between paired drums.
The presentation takes place in the Frost Planetarium, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. While the event is complimentary, seating is first-come, first-served, with a limit of four tickets per transaction. Food and beverages will be available for purchase before the program begins.
This event is part of the monthly LIVE@Frost Science series, which brings leading researchers to share their work with the public. Onsite parking is available in the museum garage for an $8 flat rate starting at 6 p.m. Museum exhibitions close at 6 p.m. and are not included with event registration.
