Memory Palace: En Electronic Exploration
Mar 17, 2025
Starting: 7:00 PM
Contemporary percussion and electronic music blend with visual elements to create an engaging exploration of place and memory. On Monday, March 17, NWS' Solo Spotlight series presents Memory Palace: An Electronic Exploration at the New World Center.
This innovative program features two significant works that merge percussion with electronics: Kaija Saariaho's Six Japanese Gardens, inspired by the contemplative spaces of Japan, and Christopher Cerrone's Memory Palace, which translates personal recollections into sonic landscapes. The performance incorporates live electronics and immersive visuals while showcasing unusual percussion instruments and techniques.
Part of New World Symphony's BLUE Projects initiative, which encourages Fellows to develop leadership and entrepreneurial skills alongside their musical training, this Solo Spotlight concert demonstrates new possibilities in contemporary performance.
Tickets are available on a pay-what-you-wish basis starting at $10, with all proceeds supporting the New World Symphony Fellows program.
