
Miami Waterkeeper Kayak Clean Up

Paddle for a cleaner bay at the Miami Waterkeeper Kayak Clean Up. Help remove marine debris from Biscayne Bay's coastal and mangrove habitats alongside Miami Waterkeeper and Miami EcoAdventures.
Clean-ups take place on multiple Saturdays throughout the season: March 22, April 5 and May 17. Participants will set off at 9:30 a.m. from Crandon Marina on Key Biscayne. Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. and the cleanup itself lasts approximately 2 hours, ending around 11:30 a.m. This event is free and includes your kayak, paddles, life vest, hydration and guidance from a Miami Waterkeeper staff member.
Closed-toe shoes are required, and long-sleeved shirts and pants are recommended (clothing that can get wet). Don't forget a refillable water bottle, sun protection and a hat. Gloves are recommended, however Miami Waterkeeper will have some available. This cleanup activity involves potential physical demands including heavy lifting and kayak navigation, making it most suitable for participants in their teens and older. Children who attend should have constant supervision from their parent or guardian. Community service hour are available for participants
Please register in advance, as space is limited. Double kayaks will be used, so solo participants may be paired with another volunteer. If you have difficulty registering or have your own kayak or paddleboard you'd like to use, contact erin@miamiwaterkeeper.org for assistance.
