Celebrate a milestone of Native American culture and artistry at the Miccosukee Indian Arts & Crafts Festival 2024, running from December 26 to 29 at the Miccosukee Indian Village in the heart of the Everglades. Marking its 50th anniversary, this festival has become a staple of South Florida, bringing together live performances, an artisan market, authentic cuisine and interactive experiences that showcase the heritage of Native American communities.
Throughout the four-day festival, attendees can explore a diverse lineup of activities, including captivating alligator demonstrations, storytelling sessions and opportunities to connect with skilled artisans displaying traditional crafts. Highlights include performances by Grammy-nominated singer Joe Tohonnie Jr. and the White Mountain Apache Crown Dancers, who perform a powerful ceremonial dance honoring their cultural traditions and connection to the land. The Native Pride Dancers, led by renowned fancy dancer Larry Yazzie of the Meskwaki Nation, will also grace the stage, blending educational elements with traditional music and dance to inspire audiences.
The festival offers a chance to enjoy authentic Native American food and browse exclusive commemorative merchandise crafted to honor the event’s 50-year legacy. The Miccosukee Indian Arts & Crafts Festival is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Miccosukee Indian Village.
