Select Days
From: 10:00 AM to 01:00 PM
Visitors are invited to engage with the creative process during a summer residency by Miami-based artist Gonzalo Hernandez at Miami Dade College’s Padrón Campus. Part of the MOAD Artist Residency, the program includes public studio access on June 11, July 8 and July 9 at the campus art gallery.
Throughout the residency, Hernandez will create new work while collaborating with students, faculty and community members. His multidisciplinary practice—spanning sculpture, painting, photography and film—draws from personal experience and explores themes of identity, labor and institutional structures. Often incorporating everyday materials and text, his work reflects both his perspective as an immigrant and his interest in the intersections of daily life and artistic expression.
The residency is part of MOAD’s broader mission to provide artists with space and support for experimentation while fostering public engagement with contemporary art in both academic and community settings.
