Myrna and Sheldon Palley Glass Artist Lecture: Toots Zynsky
Mar 06, 2025
From: 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM
The interplay of glass artistry and environmental consciousness takes center stage in an exploration of endangered avian species through innovative glasswork techniques. The Myrna and Sheldon Palley Glass Artist Lecture presents Past/Present featuring pioneering glass artist Mary Ann "Toots" Zynsky at the Lowe Art Museum, University of Miami, on Thursday, March 6.
During this evening lecture, Zynsky will discuss her artistic journey and signature filet de verre method, which has helped elevate contemporary glass art to international prominence. The presentation will highlight her current Endangered Species Series, which captures the vibrant plumage of threatened bird species, creating a visual dialogue about the impact of climate change on avian populations.
