The day begins with multiple morning options, including a drop-in volunteer cleanup at Long Pine Key from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and hands-on learning activities at Royal Palm continuing until 1:00 p.m.. Adventure seekers can participate in the immersive Wet Walk at 9:00 a.m. (reservations required) or join the Anhinga Amble at 10:30 a.m. to observe native wildlife along accessible trails. History enthusiasts will appreciate the Nike Missile Program at 1:00 p.m., offering insights into the park's Cold War significance. This diverse schedule allows visitors to customize their National Park Week experience while gaining deeper appreciation for one of America's most distinctive natural treasures.
