Nearshore Reef Guided Snorkel

In celebration of ocean conservation, community members are invited to explore Miami Beach’s nearshore reef with a guided snorkeling experience led by Blue Scholars, ARTSail and the Urban Paradise Guild.

Presented as part of the 2025 World Ocean Celebration, the Nearshore Reef Guided Snorkel takes place on Sunday, June 1, with participants entering the water from shore at the 6th Street Lifeguard Tower. Experienced guides will provide support along the route, which covers approximately a half-mile of open water.

This free event requires advance registration, and space is limited. Participants must be at least 12 years old (with a parent or guardian if under 18), have prior snorkeling experience, and bring their own gear, including mask, snorkel and fins. A completed Release of Liability Agreement is also required for each individual.

Reef-safe sunscreen, sun-protective clothing and reusable water bottles are encouraged. Single-use plastics are discouraged.
