Plogging at Matheson Hammock

Enjoy a morning of fitness and environmental stewardship along scenic mangrove trails at one of Coral Gables' natural areas. The Plogging 2025 event will take place on Saturday, April 19, at Matheson Hammock Park.

Now in its fifth year, this activity combines jogging (or walking) with "plocka upp" — Swedish for "picking up" litter. Participants move at their own pace while collecting trash that might otherwise make its way into the ocean, making this both a workout and an important conservation effort during the Great American Cleanup season.

Registration is available through the Miami-Dade County Park Link system. Volunteers under 18 must be linked to a parent or guardian account. Participants should bring a reusable water bottle, closed-toe shoes and sunscreen for this outdoor activity.
