Explore the artistry of Marco Flores in a performance that reflects on his two-decade career as a dancer and choreographer. Rayuela, meaning “hopscotch” in Spanish, is a new creation by Flores that acts as a metaphor for his life journey. The piece, featuring renowned musicians Alfredo Tejada and José Tomás Jiménez, will be presented on May 2 and 3, 2025, at the Aventura Arts and Cultural Center as part of FUNDarte's Out (Loud) in the Tropics series.
Marco Flores, a National Flamenco Award winner, is a versatile artist from Cádiz who has danced with prestigious companies, including those of Sara Baras and Rafaela Carrasco. Throughout his career, he has been honored with numerous awards, including the Carmen Amaya Award and Antonio Gades Award at the Concurso Nacional de Arte Flamenco de Córdoba. In addition to his solo career, Flores is a sought-after choreographer, having worked with leading artists and companies, such as the Ballet Nacional de España and Daniel Doña’s dance company. This performance is part of the Away From Home Series, a program ensuring the continuation of cultural programming during the renovation of the Miami-Dade County Auditorium.
