Reframing The Canon

On Saturday, November 9, Reframing the Canon opens at the Overtown Performing Arts Center. Curated by Art BaziL, this exhibition showcases the perspectives and works of Black contemporary artists, highlighting their role in broadening and reshaping the Western art tradition. By weaving together themes of art, culture and identity, Reframing the Canon encourages viewers to challenge conventional boundaries within the Western canon and gain a deeper understanding of its evolving narrative.
