Serenade to Motherhood

A diverse program of choral music will take center stage in Coral Gables as Miami Collegium Musicum returns with its annual tribute to motherhood. This year’s performance blends classical, folk, spiritual and contemporary works, highlighting both the emotional breadth and musical richness that define the ensemble’s repertoire.

Serenade to Motherhood, taking place on Saturday, May 10 at Sanctuary of the Arts, marks the second edition of this Mother's Day-themed concert. Presented by Miami’s oldest community chamber chorus, the evening also serves as a platform for women’s voices in choral music, with selections composed, arranged or inspired by notable figures such as Rachel Currea, Liliana Cangiano and Mary Louise Martin.

With piano, saxophone and percussion accompaniment enhancing the vocal performances, the concert offers a thoughtful reflection on motherhood and the contributions of women to the choral tradition.
