An evening of conversation will spotlight the achievements of women working at the forefront of marine conservation during this special panel event at 1 Hotel South Beach.
Sheroes of the Ocean, taking place on Friday, June 6, is part of the 2025 World Ocean Celebration and will feature a panel of leaders in science, art, advocacy and sustainable practices. The evening begins with a cocktail reception at 7:00 p.m., followed by the panel discussion at 7:30 p.m. and an audience Q&A at 8:30 p.m.
This year’s Sheroes include Dr. Catherine Macdonald, Director of the Shark Research and Conservation Program at the University of Miami; Adriana Sanchez, sustainable seafood strategist and founder of Seafood Ninja; Lauren Shapiro, ARTSail 2025 featured artist; Shelby Thomas, CEO and Founder of the Ocean Rescue Alliance International; and Danni Washington, science communicator and co-founder of Big Blue & You. The conversation will be moderated by Ombretta Agró Andruff, ARTSail Founder and Executive Director.
