Poetry and music intersect in a concert celebrating LGBTQ+ voices and experiences during Miami Beach's Pride month. Join NWS on Monday, April 28 at the New World Center for Inside the Music: So with Accompaniment I Choose to Heal.
The evening's program features the premiere of D.C.-based composer Cody McVey's setting of Jenny Johnson's poem "Aria," alongside new works by Miami composer Nicholas Bergstrom and New World Symphony Fellows Molly Turner and Owen Ruff. These compositions explore themes of chosen family, identity and belonging within the LGBTQ+ community.
This concert, part of New World Symphony's BLUE Projects initiative, creates a space for connection and reflection through music. The BLUE program encourages Fellows to develop innovative performance concepts that complement their musical training.
Tickets are available on a pay-what-you-wish basis starting at $10, with all proceeds supporting the New World Symphony Fellows program.
