The Story Behind SweetHeat Miami
After years of DJ’ing parties and other events in Miami and elsewhere across the U.S., SweetHeat founder Myah Mustafa dreamed of creating a weekend getaway party that would celebrate women from all over the world. Since much of her work life and relationships were centered around South Beach nightclubs, it made sense for South Beach to be the epicenter of the long weekend’s events.
The inaugural SweetHeat Miami event, which kicked off in May 2008, drew more than a thousand women from all over the U.S. The following year surpassed expectations when more than 8,000 women filled the streets of South Beach. By 2015, SweetHeat Miami welcomed about 40,000 women from across the world.
“It goes to show that bright sun, a sandy beach and a beautiful bikini can’t be denied,” Mustafa said. “Miami is the best place in the world. The weather is perfect, and you can visit so many different eclectic neighborhoods beyond South Beach.”
