The Many Faces of Dr. King
This event has passed.
Join the Coconut Grove Ecumenical Society (CGEN) and Sanctuary of the Arts in celebrating Dr. King's enduring legacy through a commemorative community performance. The Many Faces of Dr. King takes place on Sunday, January 26 at St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church in Coral Gables.
Now in its 31st year, this annual production honors Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy through performances by local artists representing Historic Coconut Grove's diverse religious, educational and civic organizations. The event brings together community members to both celebrate Dr. King's vision and highlight lesser-known figures of the Civil Rights Movement through theatrical presentations.
The free performance serves as both a cultural celebration and an educational opportunity, using the arts to connect audiences with important historical narratives and ongoing conversations about social justice. Through this collaborative community effort, CGEN continues its tradition of using performing arts to preserve and share vital stories of the civil rights struggle.
