The Masisi Kiki Ball
This event has passed.
Miami’s vibrant ballroom scene takes the spotlight on Saturday, July 25, as Masisi and Father Ken GZ present an evening of performance, fashion and community at Willy’s Neighborhood Bar. Rooted in the queer Afro-Caribbean experience, the event brings together elements of the kiki scene with a distinct Miami-Caribbean flair.
Hosted by The Kiki Roll Call and featuring beats by Pressure Point—DJ, producer and founder of Masisi—the night will showcase a range of creative categories inspired by Caribbean culture and Miami’s dynamic street style. From OTA Runway tributes to the women of Haiti, to Face presentations celebrating island heritage, each segment honors the diversity, resilience and vibrancy of the region’s LGBTQ communities.
Other category highlights include Old Way vs. New Way inspired by Vodou traditions, Tag Team New Performance repping Caribbean soccer culture, and a crowd-favorite Sex Appeal category that channels the energy of carnival. Performers will compete for over $2,000 in cash prizes, with each category offering a unique theme that encourages storytelling through look, movement and cultural homage.
Doors open at 5:00 p.m. and the ball runs through midnight. Advance tickets are $15, or $20 at the door, with VIP and reserved seating options available. Caribbean food and drinks will be on sale throughout the night.
