Explore the fragile boundaries between reality and perception as a woman's sense of identity begins to fracture. The Mother runs for select dates from November 6-23 at the Adrienne Arsht Center, presented by Zoetic Stage and Adrienne Arsht Center as part of their 2025-26 Theater Up Close season. This riveting play by Florian Zeller, translated by Christopher Hampton, delves into the psyche of Anne, a woman whose self-worth has been defined by motherhood.
With her children grown and her husband consumed by his career, Anne finds herself adrift on the eve of her husband's business trip. When her son seemingly returns to spend the night in his childhood bedroom, the lines between truth and imagination begin to blur, calling into question everything Anne believes about her family and herself.
The Mother offers an intimate theatrical experience in the Arsht Center's Carnival Studio Theater, where audiences can witness this exploration of identity just steps away from the performers. This production joins four other new-to-Miami shows in the Theater Up Close season.
Tickets go on public sale August 14.
