The Whole World is Churning: Then and Now
Through Apr 18, 2025
From: 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM
The Diaspora Vibe Cultural Arts Incubator (DVCAI) invites you to the opening reception for The Whole World is Churning: Then and Now | Now and Beyond on Tuesday, November 19, at the Barry University Institute of Immigration Studies. Curated by Rosie Gordon-Wallace and organized by the DVCAI, this exhibition features nine diasporic artists who examine the past, present and future through their works. With an emphasis on memory and materials, the artists deconstruct and reimagine, creating thought-provoking pieces that challenge and inspire. A solo exhibition by multidisciplinary artist Asser St. Val, titled Magical Entities, delves into themes of Black identity, neuromelanin and mythology. The exhibition will run through April 18, 2025.
