Thinking Outside the Box
May 13, 2025
Starting: 7:30 PM
An evening of reflection and storytelling rooted in Jewish mysticism will take place at the Michael-Ann Russell JCC. Thinking Outside the Box, scheduled for Tuesday, May 13, features author Boruch Cohen discussing his book Think Outside of the Lox: A Fresh Perspective on Jewish Teachings and Traditions.
Cohen’s collection of essays weaves together personal insight, mystical thought, and Jewish tradition in an accessible literary style. His background spans both secular and religious education—from earning a B.A. at Wesleyan University and acceptance into Columbia University’s MFA fiction program, to ultimately pursuing rabbinical studies and a 25-year career in Jewish outreach.
The program includes a Q&A session, book-signing and light refreshments. Admission is free, and copies of the book will be available for purchase. The event is presented in partnership with Chabad Chayil.
