Three profound stories of war, faith and human resilience intertwine in a groundbreaking bilingual theatrical experience. Tres Veces Cruz, directed by visionary playwright Nilo Cruz, runs from March 6 to 16 at the Westchester Cultural Arts Center, with performances Thursday through Sunday.
This innovative production by ARCA Images, in collaboration with Miami-Dade County Auditorium and the Roxy Theater, presents three monologues that explore the complexities of human nature against the backdrop of Afghanistan. Two pieces, The Journey of the Shadow and Melisma, make their Spanish-language debut, while Farhad or the Secret of Being remains in its original English.
Each monologue follows characters on their quest for truth and unconditional love, as they navigate between reality and fantasy to confront their destinies with courage and determination. Through the lens of these three distinct stories, the performance demonstrates theater's unique ability to transcend linguistic and cultural boundaries while revealing universal truths about the human experience. English audio translation is provided simultaneously for Spanish-language segments.
The production is part of Miami-Dade County Auditorium's Away From Home Series, which brings performing arts to alternative venues during the auditorium's renovation period.
