We Are the Power: A Celebration of Life, Legacy & Earth

Visitors are invited to take part in a day of learning, reflection and community engagement focused on environmental justice and cultural heritage. We Are the Power: A Celebration of Life, Legacy & Earth takes place on Saturday, April 26 at the Black Police Precinct and Courthouse Museum in Historic Overtown. Presented by The Shifting Power Alliance, the event highlights the intersection of climate awareness, local history and youth expression.
Programming includes climate justice discussions, an electric vehicle showcase, youth-led art displays, a scavenger hunt, and guided museum tours that explore the legacy of Black law enforcement in Miami. Designed as a free, family-friendly experience, the event encourages participation from all ages in recognition of Earth Day and the community’s ongoing efforts toward sustainability and empowerment.
