Weird Miami Tour with Coral Morphologic
May 03, 2025
From: 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM
Embark on an aquatic exploration of Miami's lesser-known wonders and ecological treasures with marine biology experts. The Weird Miami Tour with Coral Morphologic takes place on Saturday, May 3, departing from Miami Beach Marina.
This excursion includes both a boat excursion and a short walking segment along the city’s edge, tracing Miami’s ecological past and possible futures. Participants will discover fossilized mangrove forests, a mysterious unbuilt island, forgotten landmarks and visit the Coral City Camera site—an underwater livestream project documenting Miami's urban reef.
The tour involves approximately 30 minutes of walking, with accommodations available upon request. Tickets are $65, with limited availability.
Led by Coral Morphologic, a collaborative platform founded in 2007 by marine biologist Colin Foord and musician J.D. McKay, the tour offers insights from experts who blend scientific research with artistic exploration to promote coral conservation and environmental awareness.
Convenient parking options include the Suntex Marinas surface lot at 300 Alton Road, the lot at 414 Michigan Avenue and Miami Beach Municipal Lot P5 at 401 Alton Road.
