Explore the work of South Florida’s women photographers at Women Photographers: Shared Documentary Narratives, on view from October 18, 2024, to May 4, 2025, at HistoryMiami Museum. Curated by Aldeide Delgado, this exhibition spotlights the work of renowned photographers Maggie Steber, Silvia Lizama and Peggy Nolan, alongside their mentees Elisa Benedetti, RemiJin Camping and Sofia Valiente. Through a combination of personal, aesthetic and conceptual approaches, the exhibition reflects on Miami’s sociocultural landscape, offering a fresh perspective on documentary photography. Part of the 2024 WOPHA Congress, this exhibit underscores the role of mentorship and the enduring contributions of women to the region’s photographic history.
