XO WORLD Project by Daniel Anderson
Through Jun 30, 2025
Interactive public art brings a message of unity to Miami Beach's cultural corridor. The XO WORLD Project by Daniel Anderson, on display through June 30 at Lincoln Road's 900 block, features monumental stainless steel sculptures that invite reflection on themes of equality, peace and human connection.
The installation's centerpiece, XO World, draws inspiration from the ancient game of Jacks, reimagined on a grand scale. Standing 12 feet high and extending 24 feet in length, this 20,000-pound stainless steel sculpture combines symbolic elements: crossed arms forming an 'X' represent the project's four pillars - equality, unity, peace and love - while also depicting "Love" in sign language. The 'O' takes the form of a globe, emphasizing humanity's interconnectedness.
Complementing the main sculpture, XO Play portrays children engaged in a game of Jacks, offering a metaphor for harmonious coexistence. The piece features a young girl holding a globe-like ball, symbolizing future opportunities and social impact through individual action. These sculptures, which first debuted at New York's World Trade Center campus on World Peace Day in 2021, aim to spark a global conversation about inclusivity and hope.
