Economic Development Council (EDC) of South Miami-Dade
Business Resources
The Economic Development Council of South Miami-Dade, EDC as known by our community, was created to assist the southern reaches of the county after the devastation of Hurricane Andrew in 1992.
Our region’s boundaries includes Everglades National Park to our west, Biscayne Bay National Park to our east, Kendall Drive to our north, and the Miami-Dade/Monroe County line to our south. The EDC advocates and supports business expansion, creation of new jobs, and improvements to transportation and local infrastructure. We continually keep our local businesses and residents work, live, and play lifestyles as top-of-mind.
We join together as a single voice, representing our five municipalities; Pinecrest, Palmetto Bay, Cutler Bay, Homestead and Florida City; our farmers and agricultural industry; our military base and community; our West Kendall community; unincorporated South Miami-Dade; and all 20,000 businesses and 600,000 residents in our region.
