Outdoor Experiences
Located off South Bayshore Drive and covering more than 20 acres of bayfront green space, David T. Kennedy Park is where the locals go for exercise and playtime. With majestic trees, waterfront vistas and open lawn areas, this park is a tranquil escape only minutes away from Coconut Grove.
From coastal mangrove hammocks to grassy glades of mature trees, David T. Kennedy Park offers an oasis of abundant greenery with many recreational activities. Toss frisbees, play soccer or have a family picnic on the grassy lawn. For fitness-oriented visitors, the park features low-impact rubber asphalt running paths, various calisthenic exercise stations and a large outdoor resistance-based gym area.
Bring your furry companion to the large dog park, which features separate fenced-in areas for both large and small dogs. Other park facilities include a large playground for kids and three sand volleyball courts.
Looking for a view of the water? Benches along the bay are perfect spots to catch the sunrise. For some restorative ocean breezes, stroll out onto the boardwalk bridge that angles out onto the bay.
Before you leave, be sure to visit A.C.'s Icees frozen lemonade truck for a cool refreshing treat. This frosted lemonade stand has been an iconic landmark at the park since 1978.
