South Dade Park
Outdoor Experiences
Next time you’re in Homestead, take your family to fun-filled South Dade Park. This beautiful 8.61-acre park has tennis and basketball courts, a fitness area, a skate park, a rec room, a walking trail, and a playground for kids. If your children love soccer, take them to the mini soccer pitches – they were donated by the U.S. Soccer Foundation and Target as part of a program to give young athletes safe places to play soccer and encourage unstructured play in neighborhoods across the U.S.
South Dade Park offers a year-round calendar of interactive after-school activities, educational classes, summer camps and active older adults programs, the last of which offer activities designed to improve the physical and mental health of the 55+ community.
South Dade Park Aquatic Center/Helen Sands Pool
At the heart of this park is an aquatic complex, offering fun for the whole family. The South Dade Park Aquatic Center/Helen Sands Pool has an eight-lane swimming pool, a beach-style shallow entry, a water slide tower, waterfall palm trees, a “dancing” splash pad and more. Visit during one of the pool’s scheduled public swim periods or participate in activities such as water aerobics classes, children's “splash and play” or Learn2Swim swimming lessons for all ages.
South Dade Park is open daily from sunrise to sunset.
