An Evening with Governor Gretchen Whitmer takes place Sunday, April 6 at the Coral Gables Congregational United Church of Christ, where she will discuss her new book True Gretch -- Young Adult Edition: Lessons for Anyone Who Wants to Make a Difference.
The Michigan governor's adapted memoir combines humor and candid reflection while addressing topics ranging from Midwestern values to navigating high-profile challenges in office. Though written for young adults, the book's themes of resilience and civic engagement resonate with readers of all ages.
Governor Gretchen Whitmer is a lifelong Michigan resident and prominent voice in U.S. politics, advocating for the rights of women, voters and the LGBTQ+ community. She first entered public office at age 29 and has served in both state houses before becoming Michigan's governor.
