Day in the Dirt
Through Dec 06, 2025
monthly on the 1st Saturday
From: 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM
Join fellow community members for a morning of environmental stewardship by lending a hand to maintain The Underline's green spaces. Day in the Dirt takes place every first Saturday of the month at The Underline's Vizcaya Station Plaza, inviting volunteers to participate in essential landscaping activities along the 2.64-mile corridor.
Under the guidance of The Underline's professional horticulturist and team, participants engage in vital plant bed maintenance, including weeding, pruning and planting. The program provides all necessary gardening tools and gloves, making it accessible for both novice and experienced gardeners to contribute.
Volunteers should come prepared for outdoor work with weather-appropriate clothing they don't mind getting dirty, comfortable shoes, sun protection and water. The check-in location at Vizcaya Station Plaza (3205 SW 1st Ave) is easily accessible via multiple transportation options, including Metrorail, bicycle or car, with ample metered parking available.
In case of inclement weather, the event may be postponed if there is a 50% or greater chance of rain, with notifications sent two hours before the scheduled start time. This ongoing initiative, organized by Friends of The Underline, a non-profit organization, represents their commitment to maintaining this vital community space while fostering environmental stewardship among Miami residents.
