Apr 12, 2025
From: 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM
Experience the ancient practice of mindful nature immersion in one of Miami's most distinctive botanical gardens. Forest Bathing at The Kampong takes place on Saturday, April 12, offering participants a science-backed approach to wellness through nature connection.
This 90-minute sensory journey, led by neuroscientist Karina Del Punta, Ph.D., founder of neuroXnature, guides participants through gentle invitations designed to enhance awareness and engagement with the natural environment. The practice goes beyond simply observing nature, encouraging active participation in the rhythms and sensory experiences of The Kampong's lush surroundings.
Research has demonstrated multiple benefits from forest bathing, including emotional well-being through enhanced connection and expanded awareness, mental health improvements through reduced anxiety and depression, and physical health benefits such as lowered heart rate, reduced inflammation and improved immune function.
The Kampong, part of the National Tropical Botanical Garden system, provides an ideal setting for this practice with its diverse collection of tropical plants and historic significance.
Advance registration is required, with limited spaces available. Tickets are priced at $35 for National Tropical Botanical Garden members and $45 for non-members.
