Explore the hidden natural treasures of Zoo Miami on the Pine Rockland Kayak Tour, available on November 9, January 11 and April 12. Led by Miami EcoAdventures' naturalists, this guided experience offers a blend of land and water exploration. Participants will kayak along the edges of Zoo Miami’s secluded back lake, uncovering layers of history, oolitic limestone cliffs and the secrets hidden in the depths. The adventure continues with a leisurely hike through a critically endangered Pine Rockland, where you'll learn about its unique flora and fauna, the history of the grounds and the ongoing conservation efforts to protect this vital ecosystem. This two-hour tour includes a complimentary general admission ticket to Zoo Miami, valid for six months.
Attendees are to meet at Zoo Miami's Gate 2. Pre-registration is required, and all necessary equipment is provided. Bring water, closed toe shoes and sunscreen. Please note that this outdoor program runs drizzle or shine, so come prepared for an immersive and educational experience. In case of severe weather, the tour will be rescheduled.
