Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Breakfast
New dates TBD
Starting: 8:00 AM
Reflect on the legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. during a meaningful morning of conversation and inspiration at the 34th annual commemorative breakfast presented in his honor. Taking place on Friday, January 17, at FIU’s Modesto Maidique Campus, the event features keynote speaker Rev. Nontombi Naomi Tutu, an advocate for race and gender justice.
The daughter of Nobel Peace Prize laureate Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Rev. Tutu brings a unique perspective shaped by her experiences growing up as a Black woman in apartheid South Africa. A motivational speaker and human rights activist, she has earned multiple honorary doctorates and has served in roles advocating for racial and economic equity in the U.S. and abroad.
Join community leaders, educators and students for this annual tradition honoring Dr. King’s enduring impact on justice and equality.
